Sarah Rice, Manager
Sarah Rice (Ricey) has extensive experience in national team management, having managed the New Zealand Juniors Programme from its creation in 2010 through to taking the first ever NZ team to WJUC in 2012, and managing several Trans-Tasman Juniors events during that time. This includes the inaugural test series in 2011 which generated the interest required for a Worlds campaign the following year. This experience involved all aspects of team management - numerous selection and training camps, along with coordination of fundraising, volunteers and finances.
Ricey has competed at four World Championship events in Prague, Osaka, London and Cincinnati, so is well aware of what players expect from a successful Worlds campaign and tournament. She was involved on the New Zealand Ultimate board for several years before moving to Australia, and has been a committee member on the board of her club team – Kaos – in Perth for several years also.
Ricey is looking forward to bringing that experience to the Stingrays over the next year to ensure that logistically, the coaches and athletes have an easy, uncomplicated road to the tournament and that the campaign creates more than just great athletes – she wants to assist the coaching team in promoting personal development of the athletes across the board.
